feeling soggy

so i just had a baby just under 5 months ago. she's fabulous, wonderful and i am madly in love more than i ever dreamed.

however, there is the not-so-lovely side effects post baby. the "soggy" look. everyone you vent to about the annoying, still hangin' around baby weight will tell you that it took 9 months to put the weight on so you can't expect to lose it so fast. i think these people are just being nice. 

3 signs that have brought me to the conclusion that i need to get going on losing this baby weight...

1) not one, not two, but 3 contestants on the 'biggest loser' weigh less than i do. needless to say i have veered away from eating ice cream while watching this season. 

2) i still feel compelled to create + wear a shirt that reads ' i have a newborn at home' when i go running. at almost 5 months, she is no longer a newborn. and being overweight and sporting flashy new running sneakers make me look like a beginner runner, of course which i'm not.

3) i'm still wearing maternity jeans on an almost daily basis. 

although i do not expect to look like this

i would like to get myself back into shape enough so i can make a rare appearance here before labor day. 

fashion weak for fur

once again, my fabulous friend fernanda scored me tickets to this seasons fashion week @ lincoln center. dear dennis basso, what a gorgeous collection! i sat amongst the fur clad crowd, trying to fit in in my purple fur collar vintage coat, in awe of the delicious linx, fox + chinchilla. and i loved the thick brocades and the heavy, cashmere knits in the dresses and gloves. i enjoyed everything from the belts to the chic + simplistic hair, great music, and even the pretty sweet seats (center, 4 rows back)

i love blog hunting. most of the time, if i have enough time, i get swept off my feet look for inspiration and can go hunting for hours. i can be inspired to paint my entire apartment. buy gorgeous and frivolous lamp, chairs or books. craft. surf over all my favorite pages of etsy. and sew up a killer outfit for some place i'll never go.

happy shoes

obviously shoes make me pretty happy. i think a good pair can make you feel... great. or warm. taller. sexy. comfortable. but my TOMS make me feel fun, happy and are the only shoe that make me feel like a good person as an added bonus.

i have unfairly wide feet, which magically look thinner in TOMS. my favorite ones are the sparkled herringbone. perfect for the holiday season.
                             

and i may just need the wedges for spring time
